The Global Coronavirus (COVID-19) Hysteria

One thing the coronavirus (COVID-19) global ‘crisis’ has proven in the last few weeks is that most people worldwide behave like sheep. A few people panic somewhere, others see this and don’t know exactly what’s going on but decide that they should also panic just to be on the safe side. Monkey see, monkey do. This was especially clear from all the worldwide hoarding of toilet paper. Nobody has any explanation for why they needed to hoard toilet paper except for the fact that they saw others do it too.

This is just mass hysteria and there’s nothing rational about it. The COVID-19 coronavirus is just a flu virus. Most people who get sick from it get better within a few days. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t be careful, but the normal best practices and precautions that are relevant during the flu season would have been more than adequate for most people. The only people that have a high risk of serious complications — just like with any other flu — are older people above the age of 70, especially if they also have other underlying health conditions.

Stem cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton PhD. had the following to say about this on Facebook (March 12th 2020):

The world is currently gripped in fear of the scary coronavirus. Let’s first get one fact clear: If you have ever had a cold or flu in your life, odds are that it was the result of a coronavirus infection. Yes, coronaviruses cause colds.

But, we are being programmed with the belief that this particular cold virus is “deadly.” This fear has shut down concerts, conferences, and major public events all over the world. The fear has led to quarantines and closing down of international travel. It has even led to a major scarcity of toilet paper in Australia, were concerned citizens emptied the shelves of this commodity in anticipation that they will be walled up in their homes with this infection.

First, how deadly is this version of the virus? Yes, there have been corona-related deaths reported with the statistics suggesting that ~2% of the infected population dies. Wow! That number is almost 1% more deaths than are attributed to any conventional flu the world experiences. What is misleading is the fear that everyone who carries this virus may die from their cold. This is simply untrue! The health of almost all the victims of this coronavirus was already compromised before they were infected.

For example, the following information was provided by the news in regard to the 6 patients that died of the virus in the state of Washington last week (I added the bold print):

Six people have died in Washington and health officials have identified 18 cases.

Four of the cases in King County were linked to the Life Care nursing facility in Kirkland. More than 50 residents and staff at the facility are being tested.

The deaths announced Monday, according to health officials, included:

  • A male in his 70s, who lived at LifeCare. He had underlying health conditions and died Sunday.
  • A female resident of LifeCare in her 70s. She also had underlying health conditions and died Sunday.
  • A woman in her 80s, who was already reported as in critical condition at EvergreenHealth, died Sunday.
  • A Snohomish County resident at EvergreenHealth also died but details of that patient have not been given.

Two previously reported deaths included a man in his 70s who had underlying health conditions and had been a resident of LifeCare. He died at EvergreenHealth on Feb. 29. The other was a man in his 50s with underlying health conditions. He was admitted with serious respiratory issues and tested positive for the virus. He died at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland.

As emphasized in this report, the health of all those that died with the coronavirus was already compromised. Healthy people get cold and flu symptoms, while those already sick and near death’s door may experience the “Grim Reaper” when infected by the virus. True, sick people are more vulnerable to the virus; healthy people really have nothing to fear.

The media (perhaps in conjunction with the pharmaceutical industry) is compromising people’s health using the fear card! This is the result of negative thinking (the nocebo effect) which is the complete opposite of the placebo effect manifest through positive thinking! If you make efforts to stay healthy, with good nutrition, exercise, taking vitamins and supplements, and more importantly, avoiding stress (e.g., the “fear” of the virus), even if you do get infected with the virus, you will likely only end up with a cold and/or slight fever.

And according to The Guardian in “Coronavirus facts: is there a cure and what is the mortality rate of the virus?” (March 11th 2020):

What is the mortality rate of the new coronavirus?

It is probably about or a bit less than 1%. Much higher figures have been flying about, but the chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, is one of those who believes it will prove to be 1% or lower. The World Health Organization’s director general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, talked of 3.4%, but his figure was calculated by dividing the number of deaths by the number of officially confirmed cases. We know there are many more mild cases that do not get to hospital and are not being counted, which would bring the mortality rate significantly down.

Deaths are highest in the elderly, with very low rates among younger people, although medical staff who treat patients and get exposed to a lot of virus are thought to be more at risk. But even among the over-80s, 90% will recover.

Sometimes higher death rates are reported in certain parts of the world, and that’s because in those areas more people might have been affected by the disease that are in the high risk categories (such as the elderly). This was especially the case in Italy where many elderly people contracted the virus. As an article on Live Science, “How does the new coronavirus compare with the flu?” (March 6th 2020) points out:

In the study published Feb. 18 in the China CDC Weekly, researchers found a death rate from COVID-19 to be around 2.3% in mainland China. Another study of about 1,100 hospitalized patients in China, published Feb. 28 in the New England Journal of Medicine, found that the overall death rate was slightly lower, around 1.4%.

Still, the death rate for COVID-19 appears to vary by location and an individual’s age, among other factors. For instance, in Hubei Province, the epicenter of the outbreak, the death rate reached 2.9%; in other provinces of China, that rate was just 0.4%, according to the China CDC Weekly study. In addition, older adults have been hit the hardest. The death rate soars to 14.8% in those 80 and older; among those ages 70 to 79, the COVID-19 death rate in China seems to be about 8%; it’s 3.6% for those ages 60 to 69; 1.3% for 50 to 59; 0.4% for the age group 40 to 49; and just 0.2% for people ages 10 to 39. No deaths in children under 9 have been reported.

On the website of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) we read the following in an article titled “Study of 72,000 COVID-19 patients finds 2.3% death rate” (February 24th 2020):

Researchers from China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention today describe the clinical findings on more than 72,000 COVID-19 cases reported in mainland China, which reveal a case-fatality rate (CFR) of 2.3% and suggest most cases are mild, but the disease hits the elderly the hardest.

The study, published in JAMA, is the largest patient-based study on the novel coronavirus, which was first connected to seafood market in Wuhan, China, in December, and has since traversed the globe.

Death rate in critically ill: 49% or higher
A total of 72,314 COVID-19 cases, diagnosed through Feb 11 were used for the study. Of the 72,314 cases, 44,672 were classified as confirmed cases of COVID-19 (62%; diagnosis based on positive throat swab samples), 16,186 as suspected cases (diagnosis based on symptoms and exposures only), 10,567 as clinically diagnosed cases (from Hubei province only, diagnoses based on symptoms, including lung x-ray), and 889 as asymptomatic cases (diagnosis by positive test result but lacking typical symptoms).

“Most cases were diagnosed in Hubei Province (75%) and most reported Wuhan-related exposures (86%; ie, Wuhan resident or visitor or close contact with Wuhan resident or visitor,” the authors said.

Eighty-seven percent of patients were aged 30 to 79 years (38,680 cases). This age-group was the most affected by a wide margin, followed by ages 20 to 29 (3,619 cases, or 8%), those 80 and older (1,408 cases, or 3%), and 1% each in ages less than 10 and 10 to 19 years.

Of the confirmed cases, 1,023 patients—all in critical condition—died from the virus, which results in a CFR of 2.3%. The CFR jumped considerably among older patients, to 14.8% in patients 80 and older, and 8.0% in patients ages 70 to 79. Among the critically ill, the CFR was 49.0%.

The global hysteria and completely disproportionate response to what is essentially just a flu doesn’t make sense until you notice the fact that a large part of the media appears to be promoting fear while Big Pharma are hard at work to develop another vaccine to sell to people. In the future when their vaccine is ready, I’m sure that they’ll be pointing back regularly at the global ‘crisis’ of 2020 in order to manipulate people with fear and get them to buy their vaccination poison every year. And those that will refuse their poison will be ridiculed and blamed for any potential outbreak just like the case is today with other diseases like measles.

Like Dr. Lipton mentioned above, and like I discussed before in my post “Vaccination is Ineffective and Dangerous”, the best response to this virus is to make sure your immune system is strong enough to fight it, in which case you get rid of it in a few days just like with any other flu. In fact, in an article on Nine for News titled “Vitamin C successfully used against coronavirus. ‘Cured after only 2 days.'” (March 14th 2020) we read the following (translated from Dutch):

A medical team from a hospital at Jiaotong University in China has successfully used vitamin C against the coronavirus. In a press statement on the hospital’s website, the team wrote that patients were given high doses of the vitamin. Critical patients admitted to the hospital should be treated with vitamin C as soon as possible, the doctors advise.

Prevents and heals

The treatment enhances the antiviral activity of the immune system and prevents or cures acute pulmonary failure. The Shanghai Medical Association (SMA) in China also advises treating corona patients with high doses of vitamin C. According to the SMA, patients should be given 50 to 100 mg per kilogram of body weight per day via infusion.

Healed after two days

Patients in critical condition need up to 200 mg per kilogram of body weight, according to the medical association. The Chinese authorities brought 50 tons of vitamin C to Hubei and Wuhan province, where the outbreak began. Doctors attached to Daegu hospital in South Korea report similar successes. “All patients and doctors here take vitamin C. Corona patients with symptoms received 30,000 mg per infusion. Some were cured after two days,” said the doctors.

So for me personally, while most people in my area of the world are panicking just like the majority worldwide, I just take the same precautions like I do whenever there’s a seasonal flu outbreak: I stay at home and avoid going out of my house and among people unless it is absolutely required and I make sure I take my vitamins daily. And as we’ve seen above, especially vitamin C is very important when it comes to strengthening your immune system; in fact, the higher the dosage the better. I’ve had a post about vitamin C in my drafts folder for a few years now and I think it’s about time that I finally get back to it and finish it.
