“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors,” is a quote often attributed to the Greek philosopher Plato. In all the instances I’ve seen so far, this quote is used to motivate people to take action themselves and actively participate in politics. Read more ⟶
Free eBooks for download about the Surinamese (plantation) history
In the past year I worked on two eBooks in my spare time containing stories about the Surinamese (plantation) history. These stories were written in the period between 2003 and 2009 by my father Kenneth R. Donk. The stories were divided into three main themes and each theme is covered in a separate book. Read more ⟶
Confessions of a Medical Heretic
One of the nice things about having a blog on the Internet is that you get to connect with people around the world and are able to share ideas and information with them. And the interactivity means that you can also get updates and learn from your readers. This is how I got to know about an amazing book by Robert S. Mendelsohn titled “Confessions of a Medical Heretic.” Read more ⟶
The Dutch government is a criminal and terrorist organization
A few days ago I came across the following in an article on Starnieuws: The Dutch Public Prosecutor wanted the banks to give up the 19.5 million euros to the Dutch state in exchange for a solution. The banks did not give in and decided by means of a complaint procedure to submit the case to the Dutch courts. Read more ⟶
Read more ⟶

Criminal US government seeks to confiscate Snowden’s Income
The criminal US government is trying to confiscate some of Edward Snowden’s income from his latest book “Permanent Record.” You would think they would have something better to do, like for example, investigating who gave stand-down orders to the US Air Force on 9/11, and exactly how the WTC buildings were brought down by controlled demolitions. The CIA, FBI and Mossad might know more about that. Read more ⟶
Free public domain audio books
I just found out about LibriVox a few days ago, a website featuring a collection of free public domain audio books which you can download and listen to. The first book I listened to was “The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran. It was very good. And right now I’m in the middle of “Two Treatises of Civil Government” by John Locke, which I can also highly recommend. Read more ⟶
This is the audio version of the essay “No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority” (1867) by Lysander Spooner. I listened to it last night and can highly recommend it. Murray N. Rothbard considered this essay “the greatest case for anarchist political philosophy ever written.” Will be worth the 2 hours of your time. If you’d rather read it, you can download a PDF on Archive.org. Read more ⟶
What Anarchy Isn’t
When you hear about “anarchy” it’s often associated with violence and chaos, but this is not what the word actually means. In a new mini-book by Larken Rose he explains in simple language accompanied by beautiful illustrations what anarchy truly means. The book is titled “What Anarchy Isn’t” and is currently in production and will be released very soon. Read more ⟶

Butterick’s Practical Typography
If you’re interested in good typography check out the online book Practical Typography for the basics. For even more on this topic, I blogged about “The Elements of Typographic Style” by Robert Bringhurst in the past.
Coöperatie De Vrije Media recently published an interview with Ronald Bernard, a former insider working in the financial sector, exposing some of the inner workings at the top of the system. Bernard, one of the founders of De Blije B, worked for many years in the financial sector having his own company specializing in asset management, currency trade and deposits. Read more ⟶
Hellstorm: The Genocide of Germany by the Common Enemy
Change your plans for this evening, because this is a documentary you have to see. Yesterday I saw another amazing documentary titled “Hellstorm” made by Kyle Hunt, and based on the book “Hellstorm: The Death of Nazi Germany, 1944-1947” by Thomas Goodrich. You can watch it for free (embedded below), but you can also order DVDs from the official website. Read more ⟶
Economics is Pseudoscience; Economists are Stupid People
I’ve always hated economics and related subjects in school. I couldn’t explain exactly why back then, but it all seemed like worthless crap to me. Of course, like every other kid my age growing up in an authoritarian society, I had little choice but to sit through the lessons and try to get good enough grades (I used to barely pass those exams) so that I could please everyone else but myself. Best Way to Learn Typography: The Elements of Typographic Style
Want to learn typography? The best book on the subject is “The Elements of Typographic Style” by Robert Bringhurst. This book is a masterpiece when it comes to the subject of typography and page design. Very often I come across people online who ask where they can learn about typography, and I see experienced designers being very mysterious about it, as if they’re hoarding and carefully guarding their knowledge.
