The COVID-19 lockdown measures don’t work

The data gathered so far in Suriname with regard to the number of COVID-19-‘positive’ cases and ‘deaths’ in relation to the criminal government’s lockdown measures provide a clear picture of the ineffectiveness of those measures. This data is partially presented in the figures below, of which a complete and clearer version can be downloaded at https://www.kareldonk.com/lockdown.

Anti-Lockdown graph

Around June 1st, 2020, the criminal government proceeded to declare a total-lockdown from June 4th–15th, 2020, with a curfew imposed from 6:00pm to 6:00am from June 6th, 2020. This was due to the panic caused by the sudden increase in the number of COVID-19-‘positive’ cases. But the increase in ‘positive’ cases came from increasing the number of tests per day around June 1st, 2020. So the criminal government itself caused the panic, and then punished the population with a total-lockdown. We can see from the graph below (marked in yellow) that the tightened lockdown measures of June 6th, 2020 had no effect whatsoever on the number of ‘positive’ cases per day — they continued to increase towards August!

Around December 14th, 2020, the lockdown measures are again tightened by the criminal government to counteract the rising number of ‘positive’ cases and to prevent the upcoming holiday season from causing more infections. The criminal government spreads considerable fear among the population in this period that came to be known as the so-called “second wave.” However, we can clearly see on the graph that the further tightened measures did not have any impact on the upward trend of the number of ‘positive’ cases. The upward trend, as can be seen on the graph below (marked in yellow), simply continued despite all the measures until around January 15th, 2021 after which it started to decline towards April 1st, 2021.

Around April 1st, 2021, the graph shows that the number of ‘positive’ cases begins to increase significantly again. The response of the criminal government to this is by now predictable: tighten the same lockdown measures that have already proven multiple times not to work. Totally logical; when something doesn’t work the obvious solution is to simply persist and do more of the same. Meanwhile, society is being destroyed, but apparently that doesn’t matter. Again a lot of fear is being spread among the population; several dangerous variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus have appeared in Suriname according to the criminal government, including the so-called ‘Manaus-variant.’ The criminal government’s fear campaign is now speaking of the so-called “third wave.” In response to the increase in the number of COVID-19-‘positive’ cases, the criminal government implements weekend lockdowns on April 12th, 2021, and the curfew is tightened. On May 13th, 2021, we get a further tightening of the curfew from 6:00pm to 5:00am. None of this has any effect on the increase in the number of ‘positive’ cases in the period April 1st, 2021 to May 29th, 2021 and this can clearly be seen on the graph below (marked in yellow). The upward trend in the number of ‘positive’ cases simply continues despite the measures.

It is clear so far, based on the data, that the criminal government’s measures have had no effect on the increase in the number of COVID-19-‘positive’ cases. Apart from the fact that quite a few of the measures were active during the entire period from March 2020 to May 2021, the partial and total-lockdowns and the curfew have also had no discernible effect on countering the rising trend in the number of COVID-19-‘positive’ cases. On the contrary, these measures are counterproductive; for example, they actually create superspreader events: large crowds at various locations where citizens and individuals must wait in large groups and long lines to conduct their business outside of lockdown hours. Similarly, the introduction of the requirement to wear a mask, and its increasingly stringent enforcement, has had no effect; the number of ‘positive’ cases simply increases at several times thereafter.

By now, after the further tightening of the ineffective measures from May 31st, 2021, and the chaos that followed, it is clear that the criminal government has lost all sense of reality.

Since the measures have no effect whatsoever on countering the number of ‘positive’ cases, then the question arises as to what is causing the increase and decrease in the number of ‘positive’ cases as seen on the graph. This question is answered in my petition to the judge for suspending the lockdown measures, which can be downloaded at https://www.kareldonk.com/lockdown.
