My LinkedIn Skill Assessments Results

A few months ago I noticed the new skill assessments feature on LinkedIn and decided to try out the one for C++ to see what it was about. And before I knew it, I spent almost a whole day — without any preparation — behind the computer doing these assessments for all the skills that I had listed on my profile. It was kind of addicting to see the blue checkmark appear behind the skills and I wanted to earn as many of them as possible. You can see the results in the image below as they appear today on my LinkedIn profile.

Cool, right? I think it’s amazing that I can walk around with up-to-date knowledge of all these different tools and technologies. Especially considering the mix between the technical tools and more artistic tools, which I think is one of my unique strengths.

The quizzes are not particularly difficult, but they do have lots of trick questions, which I think are kind of pointless. So it requires a lot of concentration in order not to get tricked by slight differences in possible answers. I felt almost completely drained of energy afterwards since I did them all at once, one after another (except for T-SQL which I earned today).

My highest scores (top 5%) were for PHP, .NET Framework and CSS, while for C and C++ I managed to get in the top 15%. Not too bad considering I did this without preparation (I just winged it to be honest).
