My addition : liberty comes from within. It can not be made nor can it be unmade. It is firstly a state of mind. Moving towards that state means resolving anything that leads away from that state of mind.

Similar a man cannot be made. Being a man means to shed the hu from hu-man. And that takes effort and time.
