Hasn't atheism, in the form of Communism/Socialism caused more death and destruction than all religions put together? Think Stalin,Pol Pot and throw in Hitler for the heck of it. Millions have died under these God-less regimes. You question the validity of Christ but fail to look at the evidence found outside the bible that testifies to his existence. Mithras was born from a rock, not a virgin. Horus' mother had sex with a penis she found after she dismembered her husband. These two myths have been utterly debunked. Massey was asked to produce the sources for Horus and has not provided one shred of evidence. Your research needs to be done with intellectual honesty. Look at ALL the evidence on both sides. Your "research" is wanting.

Hi All of you, I also searched the answer on this for a long time. Since I was 5 year old I had many bizar experiences. Out of fear I denied a lot of those experiences, I tried to block them. I couldn\'t, it was always comming back to me. Dreams of things that would happen, and always happened. Also telepathie was a thing that was very difficult for me to understand. I didn\'t know the difference between thoughts and sayings when I was a child. This caused a lot og angryness towards me, as I answered to the thoughts of people. Now I\'m 28 and still it\'s comming back to me. At the age of 21 I had a lot of questions about this and I searched, I studied also all religions even witchcraft. My foundings were that indeed there are a lot of contradictions. But don\'t look at those, just look at all the things they have in common. All religions are speaking about praying or meditation, about asking god and the prophets or angels for help. All religions say that everyone can talk to god and ask for help. They are all speaking of the third eye, that makes it able to communicate with eachother on a long distance and do a lot of other stuff. It has even been proven by many scientists. The most important thing they have in common is that they all speak about the apocalyps that will happen, that men\'s consciousness will grow more, and that the good ones will have peace at that day and the bad ones will stay in huge miserie. But God will forgive those who love him and try to do the good. All religions speak about 7, 7 levels or heavens. You need to pass through them to go to paradise.... I hope this info will help you in your quest. Greetz, Filouke

hmmm, nice said by nemov: 'Maybe someday I’ll be blessed with enough intellectual capacity to appreciate it.' Why you just don't think you have this intellectual capacity now?

I'm not sure who I'm citing, but 'calling atheism a faith is the same as calling bald a hair color'.
and BTW, 'If there were no religion mankind would still fight over limited resources' - what you mean by 'would'? Unfortunately, they do fight for the resources. And religion is a possible (but not the only one) mean to make them fight. What nemov probably meant is religion keeps certain people from going wild and doing crimes. Yes, it does, by means of fear. Do like we said or you'll go to hell! God will punish you! They behave good only in fear of something, they are not good themselves internally. I don't need any superior force to be good to the others. Perhaps we'll be better off if those are under pressure so they do not hurt anyone? But we have laws for that and it can be rather fair, without brainwashing.

"Religion" is starting to fall apart all around the world? I think you have your head in the sand. Furthermore, your blog would hold much more weight if you actually dealt with specifics. Ambiguous wide brushing doesn't do anything more than show you to be an antagonist...and your ad for Ron Paul only serves to convey a lack of realism. Hope for America is in no way found in Ron Paul.

[...] This morning I almost sprayed coffee all over my computer when I read this story. Looks like the Chinese want to regulate re-incarnation now. Yes, you heard that right. If you were still in doubt that religion is stupidity used to brainwash, enslave and control people, this is such a clear example of its purpose. Just take a look: In one of history’s more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is “an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation.” [...]

Hi nemov,

This "enlightenment" is not a faith, just like the fact that my expecting the sun coming up tomorrow is not a faith, or the fact that I know that if I put my hand in fire it will burn, is not a faith.
It's all based on provable things, things you can easily verify, things that are true. Faith, by it's own definition means that you don't know something for sure, or at all. You just believe that it is so. And that is a very dangerous thing to do, because when you do so, you open yourself up to manipulation. All the evidence for proving religion to be a big hoax has been around for thousands of years. Read the books and see for yourself.

I don't believe I am intellectually superior to you. That is not the point at all. The point is, I do have a certain advantage above you, when I know religion is based on lies. And I'm sure you can think of reasons for why that might be the case yourself based on my reasoning.
As for Einstein, did he believe in any of the religions around today? Or just that there has to be a higher power? If you want to believe in some higher power, I'm not going to argue with you. Like Jordan Maxwell said, "I don't know what god is, but I know what he isn't!" And he isn't any of the religions that exist today. However, is there a higher power? Who knows?

Also, resources aren't limited. There's enough for everyone. Scarcity is being created artificially in order to be able to control people. I might sound nuts, but have an open mind and spend time to do your own research, and you might be surprised at where you end up.

It is always fascinating to read these faux intellectual breakthroughs on religion. This "enlightenment" is a faith in itself, which is a contradiction. You even cite several books that reinforce your viewpoint, you might as well call them Matthew, Luke, Mark, and John.

My point isn't that I think you are wrong, but that you're not intellectually superior just because you don't believe in any religion. If there were no religion mankind would still fight over limited resources. Nations would stil justify their actions using whatever excuse could be had. Even Albert Einstein (who you quote from) believed in some kind of higher power.

I admire your difficult and rewarding path it's really courageous of you. Maybe someday I'll be blessed with enough intellectual capacity to appreciate it.

TruthSeeker:

Thanks. I'm not so sure about an afterlife. There's not much good evidence. And from those people who had near-death experiences who claim to have seen Jesus for example, well, we know now that there was never a real person named Jesus as described in the bible.
I do agree that there's a lot of weird stuff going on, and much that we can't explain completely yet. I'm amazed every day by how little we know. However, we're finding out more and more about the universe we live in every day. It also appears that there was a time long ago when we did know a lot more, but we got dumbed down over the course of history, with information being kept only for the few in control. Only now are we beginning to get back certain information.

I agree with many points but am still finding my way. I just know there has to be an afterlife, otherise how do you explain magick which is the old only proven way of actually showing the spirit world/parnormal and other dimensions and universe/s. Plus hos is it that psychics can get it so right which 100% precision? Has no one ever experienced the same come true, predictions you find hard to belive at the time but in due time it all come 100% true amazingly enough.
