One year ago from today, I published my first article here where I gave my opinion on why I thought Microsoft was winning. And one year later, I still think what I wrote there is true. But that’s not really the reason for this post.
The real reason is to look back at one year of ‘blogging.’ I put blogging between quotes because I wouldn’t exactly call this blogging. I also never refer to this website as my blog. When I mention it, I just call it my homepage. I think it is more than just a blog about specific topics, since I also have lots of other things related to me on this site. I also use this website to write down my thoughts on any subject that may interest me at a given moment. It’s easy when discussing things with people to just give them a link to a post on my website so they can read up on my opinion on that specific subject, instead of just having to explain the whole thing again to them.
When I launched the website, most posts were related to Information Technology. And as you’ve probably noticed, the latest posts were about 9/11 and global politics, with a few posts on other subjects in between. This doesn’t mean that I’ll be concentrating more on politics and related things in the future however. Like I said before, I just post about things that interest me the most at a specific moment. The truth is that I have many things I want to talk about on various subjects, but there’s little time to do all of them. So some things get pushed back while I post the things I find most interesting and important first.
When I started this website, I didn’t really care about things like attracting lots of visitors and traffic, afterall it’s just a homepage. But I am pleased to say that the number of visitors has grown more than I would expect during the last year, and that there even seem to be people who are subscribed to the feeds here.
I should also mention my host Webcore Labs, who have been great ever since I started hosting my site with them in 2004. Very reliable and the support is excellent. I also want to thank Alan personally for his help and his quick response to provide me with anything that I need.
Looking forward to another year of ‘blogging.’
