Yes Kay, because after the 40D it went downhill. 50D sucked. 7D image quality is not as good. 1D3 had issues. Hopefully the 1D4 won't disappoint.

Canon fanboys use certain tactics when the integrity of their equipment or their deity (Canon) is put into question. I have compiled a list of the most common apologetics and accusations:

- you don't know how to use your equipment.

- error 99's are a normal feature.

- Nikon have errors as well, so it's normal for Canon to have them.

- there is nothing wrong with the auto focusing system, it's your fault.

- quality control costs money (as mentioned previously).

- it's normal to recalibrate your lenses, even from a "L" range lens.

- lens hood are additional accessory and should be sold separately.

as we can see, circular reasoning and lying is a trait of the Canon fanboys and of Canon executive.

what I find most insulting is that a once great leader in photography will sell faulty DSLR cameras in exchange for your hard earned cash. Canon are seriously taking you for a bunch of fools, wake up people, there are alternatives.

It'd be interesting to see what camera Canon users would buy if all their lenses/accessories worked equally well on all manufacturer's bodies. There are still areas that are firmly Canon dominated, but not as many as a few years ago...

Well done Donk.... give it to the Canon management team. They are idiots. What upsets me is now they are trying to prepare Canon shareholders by saying 2009 is going to be a bad year for the DSLR market. But actually its going to be a bad year for Canon only. They are making excuses for their own incompetence and trying to push the blame onto the economic crisis.

Canon can't even produce defect free Powershot G10, their new flagship pocket sized camera. Look at what I had to put up with when I got my G10, www.dans-imaging.blogspot.com

Look at Nikon, 333% growth in DSLR sales in UK. Kinda makes the Canon senior management team look like idiots. Nikon is so confident now they are pricing the D3x at US$8000. Nikon wants a big piece of the pie just like Canon had for years been charging ridiculous prices for their 1 Series.

If Canon stuffs up some more, we users will be the real losers.
