I am sorry that you are forced to use such a bad system. Vista is still bad with all sorts of compatibility and performance problems even with the removal of the Reduced Functionality Mode in SP1. Are you using Microsoft Office as well? Microsoft will start piloting the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) Notifications (read : nagging) program soon which will check whether you have a pirated version of Office on your computer. I am pretty sure it will make mistakes like the Software Craptection Platform in Vista and lock out legitimate users of Office. I still have a copy of Office 2000 but I seldom used it (abandoned, actually). Now I mainly use OpenOffice and occasionally WordPerfect. I have not bought Office 2003 and I will never buy Office 2007 now or in the future, now with this OGA crap. Too bad. I am sorry that you are forced to use such a bad system. As a developer, I have to make sure my applications run on it since some clients will be running Vista. They have no choice either since new PCs come with Vista only.
